 Classroom Practice Component
Four (4) hours of each module is spent in preparing classroom applications, enabling teachers to apply what they have
learned with individual students and small groups.
Flexible Application
These research-based instructional activities empower teachers to support children with skill deficits as well as those with established
skills. Teachers can select activities that best suit their students' skill levels. Each module includes learn by doing
activities, which are provided online and in the printed materials.
Targeted Assessment
In addition, teachers learn how to use DIBELS-equivalent measures to monitor their students' reading performance and
growth. The data obtained from the assessment helps teachers determine the effectiveness of their current curriculum
materials and teaching approach and adjust their classroom instruction to support student needs.
Group Suppport
The experiences teachers have in the classroom are discussed in group meetings. Teachers receive feedback and support
from the coach and fellow teachers and can fine-tune their teaching strategies and techniques.
